Ko Lanta Guide Far South Beach Area
The road south from Klong Hin becomes narrow with some sudden dips and rises but incredible, beautiful coastal views. In rainy season, this becomes 4-wheel drive country.
Visitors who venture this far down the island are rewarded by a series of beautiful small beaches with few well-spaced resorts surrounded by natural forest and jungle.
Kan Tiang Beach
Kan Tiang Beach is a spectacular stretch of white sand with clear waters and excellent swimming. There are only a handful of small resorts on this island, who share this amazing beach with the exclusive, 5-star Pimalai Resort and Spa.
Local Services
Kan Tiang Beach area has limited services along the roadside.
Restaurants + Hangouts
The small resorts in this area offer great southern Thai food and sunset beach bars. Same But Different is one the island best Thai restaurants and Pimalai Resort and Spa offers several exclusive fine dining, café and bar settings overlooking the bay.
Nui Beach, Klong Jark Bay and Mai Phai Bay
Nui Beach is a secluded (mostly deserted) beach that will take some asking to find - but well worth the adventure. Enjoy the popular 'waterfall' walk near Klong Jark Beach, a few kilometers before Ko Lanta's most southern resort beach, Ao Mai Pai, or Bamboo Bay.
The road continues south to Ko Lanta National Marine Park Headquarters, sited at the southern end of the island, which has a great Jungle Walk path.
Local services and restaurants are very limited but at the Bamboo Bay Resort is a wonderful place for a meal or drink before heading back to civilization.
