Diving Spots Koh Phi Phi Journey time: 35 minutes. Depth: 5-30 meters With an underwater world just as fascinating as what lies above the surface, the dive sites of the Phi Phi islands have been a long-time favorite for divers. The amazing diversity of marine life includes leopard sharks that are lazing around. Gorgonian sea fans and other extraordinary coral formations create a breathtaking playground where butterfly fishes, angelfish, trigger fishes as well as seahorses, turtles, and lionfish. Even Manta Rays and Whale Sharks are often found here. Hin Daeng, Hin Muang Journey time: 1 hour. Depth: 8-70 meters This is Thailand's most famous dive sites. The 70m drop-offs are the deepest around and visibility often reaches up to 30 meters! The diversity of marine life is incredible as these two sites offer a perfect feeding ground for Manta Rays and Whale Sharks, which often visit these two reefs throughout the year. The steep walls and inter-connecting rock shelves are covered with red and purple anemones between which the smaller varieties reside. Curious gray reef sharks, large schools of Tuna, Barracuda and Jacks circle the deep blue. This is definitely a must for the more experienced diver. King Cruiser Wreck/Shark Point-Aneomone Reef This part of the Hin Daeng trip. On May 4, 1997, the 85m passenger ferry "King Cruiser" on a routine run to the Phi Phi islands, made history by straying several kilometers off course and hitting the Anemone Reef. When a huge hole ripped through her belly, the ship went down in less than 1 hour! Today, the wreck is teeming with marine life and its proximity to "Shark Point and Anemone Reef," both declared a marine sanctuary in 1992, offer some of the most colorful diving in Thailand. Diving at this location and you'll see large schools of Barracuda, Lion Fish, Emperors, Reef and Leopard Sharks. Koh Haa Journey time: 30-40 min Visibility: 15-30m Level of Diving required: All Levels Depth Range: 5-50m Variety of Fish :***( some very rare species) Quality of Corals: *** This group of stunning and remote islands is situated about half an hour boat trip from AquaScuba's Dive Center in koh Lanta. (Haa means 5 in the local dialect and since Koh Haa is actually made up of six small islands someone must have miscalculated!). This is one of our favorite destinations. Five beautiful limestone islands with a shallow lagoon and white powder beach above the surface, and a magical diving experience both for beginners as well as experienced divers. The islands are separated by deep-water channels, and are famous for the exceptional visibility. With a choice of at least six dive sites, provide excellent diving for all levels of diver. Here you will find colorful coral gardens and fringing reefs, impressive walls, strange pinnacle formations, and huge cathedral like caves. The marine life that can be found at Koh Haa varies from rare Ghost Pipefish measuring only a few centimeters, to an abundance of Porcupine fish, lionfish and Octopus hiding amongst the rocks and crevices. A Hawksbill Turtle is often seen swimming amongst the pristine coral. You can also find banded sea snakes, lionfish, crustaceans and beautiful cowries. Huge schools of silverside fish, glassfish, and barracudas abound. While Manta Rays, Eagle Rays and even Whale Sharks are spotted here occasionally. You can't predict exactly what you'll see, but it's always a pleasant and rewarding surprise! One of Koh Haa's highlights is the series of caverns and swim-throughs. The largest cavern has three chambers. The first two chambers are connected by a shallow swim through at about 9 meters. PADI Courses Discover Scuba-Diving You will first learn about the scuba diving equipment as well as basic diving theory. Then you will have the opportunity to practice all the skills that will make your experience safe and enjoyable in the swimming pool. A professional PADI Instructor and you will have the time to get comfortable with the diving equipment. This is so easy that most of our guests accomplish the session, in about an hour and a half. The second day you will be on an Aqua Scuba Dive Trip! Ready and familiarized with your scuba gear and the basics of Diving. You will complete two open water dives with a PADI instructor, at some of Thailand's most alive and colorful reefs. Minimum age: 10. Max depth: 12 meters; duration: 1.5 days; two dives. This performance-based adventure program is designed to lead you step-by-step in your future exploration of the underwater world. You'll learn how to assemble and take care of your equipment, use the Recreational Dive Planner, avoid and deal with potentially difficult situations and complete skills both in the swimming pool and in open water, continuously under the direct supervision of an experienced and qualified PADI Instructor. The PADI Advanced Open Water course is designed to take your diving to the next level. It is the next natural step in the learning system of PADI. Weather you are a newly qualified diver or an experienced open water diver by joining the course you will extend your diving skills as well as your knowledge and experience. As you better understand the underwater world, you will be safer and, you'll simply enjoy diving more. During the course you will get to explore some of diving's top adventures and receive high quality academic training in these areas by one of our professional instructors, You will complete two "core" dives, a Deep Dive (30m/100ft) and a Navigation dive. On top of that, you can choose three more adventure dives that interest you the most or why not combine diving with an existing skill or interest!
